Everyone goes home
Working-at-heights and confined-space tickets are current on every crew member, and toolbox talks happen before the crane starts, not after an incident.
Home/About
Sec A — Company
3 years of structural and miscellaneous steel paired with 15 years of experience in the industry, built on repeat work from contractors who stopped shopping the package around.
Est. 2001
Toro started as a mobile welding rig working nights for industrial landlords around Newmarket and the northern GTA. The shop came second, once repairs turned into fabrication and fabrication turned into full steel packages.
The shop now runs 22,000 square feet under two ten-ton cranes, with a beam line, a plasma table and a paint bay. What has not changed is who answers the phone: the same people who quote the job are the ones in the shop when it is welded.
We work across southern Ontario, mostly within two hours of the GTA, on commercial, industrial and infrastructure packages between fifty and two thousand tons.
DWG S-330 — Mezzanine framing, issued for fabrication
Sec A-02 — Mission
Detailing, fabrication and erection under one contract, priced honestly, sequenced to the site rather than to our shop, and finished without a punch list handed to somebody else.
Sec A-03 — Values
Four rules the shop and the field are both measured against.

Working-at-heights and confined-space tickets are current on every crew member, and toolbox talks happen before the crane starts, not after an incident.
V-02
A hole in the wrong place costs an hour in the shop and a day on site. We check the model, then check the steel, then check the survey.
V-03
If a load will be late you hear it the moment we know, with a revised sequence attached. Nobody benefits from an optimistic delivery date.
V-04
We do not leave a deficiency list for the next trade. Punch items are closed before demobilization, with sign-off in writing.
Sec A-04 — Compliance
Our welding procedures are approved under CSA W47.1 Division 2 and welds are performed to CSA W59 by ticketed welders whose qualifications we re-verify annually. Pressure and process work is carried out under TSSA registration.
Insurance, WSIB clearance and our safety record are current and available on request — usually before you ask, since they go out with every bid.
Take-offs come back within two business days. Budget pricing from a sketch, firm pricing from an IFC set.
